Inaugurata a Roma, nei Musei di San Salvatore in Lauro, il 23 aprile 2024, la mostra dal titolo ?Figurazione anni ?60 e ?70?, dedicata a due decenni del Novecento caratterizzati da grande vitalità, che si propone di intercettare il nuovo interesse internazionale per la pittura e la scultura attraverso importanti artisti che hanno segnato un momento di intenso fervore creativo. Promossa dalla Fondazione Terzo Pilastro ? Internazionale e realizzata da Poema S.p.A. in collaborazione con Cigno Arte, l?esposizione presenta un?ampia rassegna dedicata alla pittura e alla scultura di figurazione in Italia a cavallo tra i due decenni artistici più vitali del Ventesimo secolo.
Curated by Lorenzo and Enrico Lombardi, the exhibition is, in fact, dedicated to the Italian figurative painting and sculpture experiences of the generations that were active especially between the 1960s and 1970s: a very complex and differentiated period that today deserves to be explored and, in many cases, rediscovered.
Moreover, during this period, visual artists often worked closely, on a poetic and representative level, with writers and directors, such as Pier Paolo Pasolini, Italo Calvino, Alberto Moravia, Giovanni Testori, Luchino Visconti, Vittorio De Sica, and Leonardo Sciascia, often sharing in the narration of the new conditions that involved metropolises and a society in rapid and sometimes dramatic transformation.
Iconic Italian lines actually represent an interweaving of experiences often placed in an international context, in which visions and suggestions of various origin have crossed paths: from social and political Realism to Naturalism, including Pop Art and Hyperrealism, without forgetting the important influences of metaphysical painting. The exhibition is divided into four sections: FIGURA SCULTURA (FIGURE SCULPTURE), dedicated to the great tradition of figurative Italian sculpture; POLITICA SOCIETÀ REALTÀ (POLITICS SOCIETY REALITY), illustrates the various research of role players from those years, between political commitment and contamination, with design and new media; NATURA PITTURA (NATURE PAINTING), focuses on the new Naturalism of the 20th century, often also tied to the first embryonic ecological movements; METAFISICI E VISIONARI (METAPHYSICS and VISIONARIES), in the name of artists who, going beyond the contingent elements of sensitive experience, chose to represent the aspects of reality they considered authentic and fundamental, according to the broadest and most universal perspectives possible.
