Amii Stewart and the Gerardo Di Lella orchestra at Agrigento

Amii Stewart & Gerardo Di Lella Pop Orchestra plays the seventies – the ‘Dance Era’ plays the seventies’” is the title of the show produced by Poema S.p.A. – an operational branch of Fondazione Terzo Pilastro – that promoted the event, that revolves around the unmistakable sound of the seventies disco music". At the request of Professor Emmanuele Emanuele, Chairman of Fondazione Terzo Pilastro the concert was offered to the citizenry of Agrigento and held on the 14th of May at 20:45 in the setting of the Valley of Temples.
This project brings together one of the most creative and versatile Italian conductors in tandem with one of the most famous voices of music, who in 1979 conquered the charts all over the world with the famous 'Knock on Wood'.
The Chairman of Fondazione Terzo Pilastro commented, “For a long lime my heart has been tied to Agrigento and to the Valley of the Temples Archaeological Park, that wonder envied by the whole world where I held some of my most important exhibitions, such as the solo exhibition of Fabrizio Plessi and the great exhibition by Igor Mitoraj. Today I am delighted to be here in Agrigento again and wish to thank the Mayor Calogero Firetto for kindly conferring the city’s 'Special Mention’ award to me, for having contributed to making Agrigento a central landmark in the cultural revival of Sicily. For this reason, I am delighted to offer the concert by Gerardo Di Lella and Amii Stewart in Agrigento, which I hope may ideally represent a bridge between the world we come from and today's society and between the generation of 'those who were young in the seventies' and our children and grandchildren.”
