Professor Emanuele awarded Leone d’argento for lifetime achievement at Narnia Festival

Professor Emmanuele F. M. Emanuele, Chairman of Fondazione Terzo Pilastro – Internazionale, whose instrumental foundation Fondazione Cultura e Arte supports the Narnia Festival and its Instrumental Summer Training Program was awarded the Narnia Festival Leone d’argento for lifetime achievement, “For his role as a great philanthropist and an important patron of Italian art and his significant contribution to the diffusion of Italian culture throughout the world, in particular by supporting and promoting the work of youths in the various artistic and cultural disciplines”. The recognition was conferred during the event dedicated to him ‘Fantasia italiana’ that started at 21:30 on the 31st of July 2019 at the San Domenico Auditorium Bortolotti, Narni.

This performance introduced the Festival to the American public when Cristiana Pegoraro and the Chamber Ensemble of Rome, conducted by Maestro Lorenzo Porzio, performed their unpublished piano and orchestra transcription of ‘The Four Seasons’ by Vivaldi and of several Overtures by Rossini, with Maria Rosaria Omaggio, narrator, the Underground Dance Company and video background by Mino La Franca.

‘Viaggio fra le note della creatività’, featuring Rubinia, a painter, Fabiola Vitale who creates jewellery, Sara Meloni, psychologist and psychotherapist and extemporaneous Brazilian music was held at 18:30 on the same day in vicolo Belvedere, Narni. On the 4th of August the programme continued at the San Domenico Auditorium Bortolotti, with the concert ‘Cristiana & Friends’, one of the traditional events of the kermis, during which Christiana Pegoraro, the world-famous pianist and artistic director of the Narnia Festival performs together with her colleague musicians of the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia and other important international music institutions in the Carnival of the Animals by Saint Saens, conducted by Maestro Lorenzo Porzio, with Zelig Lab Michela Fontana as narrator.
