Reception and Smiles’ project, in association with the Emergenza Sorrisi – NGO: this project is dedicated to young patients (and doctors with regard to training) from the sub-Saharan area.

Paralympic Sports from promotion to the Paralympic Games’ project in association with the Italian Paralympic Committee (Comitato Italiano Paralimpico (C.I.P.): this project incorporates the international competitive sports, in foreign countries, training and qualifying for the Olympic Games.

Made in the Mediterranean – Weave Innovation and Crafts’ project in association with ACLI LAZIO: this is a pilot project that extends from the Metropolitan City of Rome Capital to the earthquake-stricken regions and in the future to Southern Italy and the Mediterranean region.

Strategic programme titled ‘Linee e obiettivi Strategici 2019-2025’ (Strategic lines and goals 2019-12015) and correlated educational activities, in association with the Suor Orsola Benincasa University: this strategic plan includes further investment in educational activities to make them more innovative – by using the most advanced technologies – and international through an increase in lectures in the English language.  The lines of action may be summarised as follows: development of a dynamic and innovative environment, an increase in research activities, higher quality of the training offering and greater investment in personnel training.

Archaeological Excavation Campaign in the Bay of Cartaromana, in front of the Aragonese Castle: this project was promoted and accomplished by the Foundation in collaboration with the Associazione Archeologica, Società Marina di Sant’Anna and Società Cooperativa Ischia Barche for the purpose of retrieving numerous archaeological findings from the Roman era in the ancient city of Aenaria and creating educational exhibitions for schools.

Donation of a cutting-edge research instrument to Fondazione Biogem: Fondazione Terzo Pilastro bore the expense of equipping the facility with a two-photon electron microscope, which allows (non-invasive) cellular and subcellular investigations on live animals.

Project to install a New lighting in the Tower of Frederick II: the installation of an artistic lighting system in the Tower of Frederick II, one of the most appreciated medieval monuments in Sicily, was accomplished by Fondazione Terzo Pilastro in agreement with the Comune di Enna.

Project to create a battered women’s shelter: the project, promoted and supported by Fondazione Terzo Pilastro in association with the Comune di Enna, to create a centre for the prevention and treatment of domestic violence for women and their children in the current premises of the Fontanazza nursery school, to be refurbished for the purpose.

Project to promote fencing for the social integration of disabled people: accomplished by Fondazione Terzo Pilastro in association with the Panathlon International Club in Palermo, the project aimed to promote fencing as a means of social integration of disabled people, also through integrated Olympic and Paralympic fencing classes, involving youths with physical and intellectual disabilities.

The project ‘La rinascita dei Palladini’ (The revival of Paladins), to remodel the entrance hall and passageways of the Children’s hospital G. Di Cristina through art: Fondazione Terzo Pilastro, in collaboration with the Associazione Mediterraneum, promoted and supported the creation of murals portraying the heroic deeds of the Sicilian Paladins by Ida Saitta in the common areas of the hospital.

International Conference ‘Mediterraneo: Porta d’Oriente (The Mediterranean: Gateway to the East): promoted and produced by the Foundation at the Società Siciliana di Storia Patria.

Creation of a Healthcare facility in the Zen neighbourhood: promoted and accomplished by Fondazione Terzo Pilastro in association with the Comune di Palermo and the Local Health Service, in order to provide a concrete solution to the real urgent needs of a community with no healthcare facility in their neighbourhood, with particular regard to the general medicine, A&E and maternity and infants departments.

Creation of an Academy of Arabian-Sicilian studies: promoted and accomplished by the Foundation, this would be a place of study, research and meeting between civilizations in the Arab world and the Italian, especially Sicilian, civilization, that demonstrates the presence of Arabs in our country for over 330 years.
