Exhibition entitled ‘Partono i Bastimenti’: From Naples to Cosenza

LOCANDINA-Partono-i-bastimenti-CSThe Superintendency of Historical, Artistic and Ethno-anthropological Heritage of Calabria offered to house the exhibition entitled ‘Partono i Bastimenti’ in the halls of Palazzo Arnone, in Cosenza, where temporary exhibitions are held. The exhibition focused on Italian emigration to the Americas which, as historians agree, with over 25 million people leaving Italy between 1861 and the early nineteen sixties, was one of the most important migrations in the history of mankind. Organized due to the financial and planning contribution of the Foundation and curated by Francesco Nicotra, Director the of National American Foundation’s (NIAF) Special Programmes, the exhibition travelled to Cosenza having opened in Naples, in the Suor Orsola Benincasa University, where it was held, free of charge, from the 9th October 2012 to the 20th January 2013.
 The exhibition was held in Palazzo Arnone from the 17th July – the 15th September 2013.
