CONVIVIALITY: ANTHROPOLOGICAL, CULTURAL AND SOCIAL ASPECTS OF DINING TOGETHER AND CONSEQUENCES FOR INTER-RELIGIOUS DIALOGUE

The Foundation subsidised the conference entitled “Convivialità: gli aspetti antropologici, culturali e sociali del condividere un pasto ed i risvolti nel dialogo interreligioso (Conviviality: anthropological, cultural and social aspects of dining together and consequences for inter-religious dialogue), organised by the Fondazione Cardinale Paul Poupard and held in Gallarate (Varese) on the 17th November 2011.

The purpose was to create an occasion to meet and consider the implicit symbolic and religious aspects of Mediterranean nations’ eating traditions compared to those of populations in other parts of the world which have different religious beliefs.
