The opening ceremony of the exhibition Urban Forest, curated by Paolo Falcone, will be held on the 26th of October at 6.30 p.m. in the official context of Palermo Capitale della Cultura 2018.
The project has been promoted and produced by Fondazione Cultura e Arte, a branch of Fondazione Terzo Pilastro – Internazionale chaired by Professor Emmanuele F. M., in association with the City of Palermo and the Museum Centre of Modern and Contemporary Art.
The curator Paolo Falcone has invited some of the leading artists on the international scene to exhibit large artworks in situ linked to each other so as to create a route between the exhibition places that interpret and implement the concept of Urban Forest, and communicate with the prestigious venues Piazza Bologni and Palazzo Belmonte Riso.
The main artists include Doug Aitken, Francesco De Grandi, Nathalie Djuberg & Hans Berg, Jimmie Durham, Oliafur Eliasson, Bill Fontana, Sara Goldschmied – Eleonora Chiari, Carsten Höller, Ann Veronica Janssens, Richard Long, Ernesto Neto, Benedetto Pietromarchi, Tomas Saraceno, AstridSeme, Conrad Shawcross, Andreas Slominski, Pascale Martine Tayou, Luca Vitone and Ai Weiwei.

Exactly fifty years after his first solo exhibition (Galleria La Feluca, Rome, November 1958) and just over thirty years after his last anthological exhibition in Rome (Museo di Castel Sant’Angelo, 1987), Ennio Calabria receives an important tribute through the large anthological exhibition held in the halls of Palazzo Cipolla as requested by Professor Emmanuele F. M. Emanuele.  The exhibition titled “verso il tempo dell’essere. Opere 1958 – 2018”, has been promoted by Fondazione Terzo Pilastro – Internazionale, produced by POEMA in association with the Archivio Calabria and curated by Gabriele Simongini. Around eighty artworks between paintings (some of which have been produced for the occasion in 2018) and pastel drawings will report the entire career of this leader of Italian and European visionary and existential figuration.
The opening ceremony will be held at Palazzo Cipolla, via del corso on the 19th of November at 6 p.m.
